This store was a former Mad City. The website remains as Mad City, but there is not reference to this old name in the new shop. There is reference to ‘Halley’s Comics’ on the parking signs, as this is the name of the Diamond account. It seems there has been a lot of name changes. There are new release comics, some back issue comics, and a selection of TPB’s. Nearly everything in the shop is Big 5 publishers.

This is a classic used book store, piled high with product. Does not deal in new release comics, which would normally result in the shop being delisted but Loyalist has the largest and most diverse selection of back issue comics in Saint John, a much better selection than either comic book shop. If back issues are your thing, go digging here.

CHANGES – July, 2011
Enigma Comics and Games — Enigma is closed. When I visited in March 2011, things were clearly on the way down. Telephone disconnected. Facebook page down. Sackville is a very small town, population 5,400, with a small University, Mount Allison, with a student base of 2,300. It was a risky experiment, to open a shop in such a small town.
