The most interesting aspect of the bande dessinée (or Bédé or BD) scene in Quebec is the general acceptance of comics. We do see more book store chains throughout Canada carrying comics, typically in the form of TPB’s and OGN’s, but because BD has not had the historical connection to monthly/floppy/pamphlet comics, being more book inclined, the book stores have carried BD for a long time. You’ll find many of the stores listed here are book stores, rather than comic shops the way we know them.
