Beyond giving out our yearly awards, CCBCAA’s mandate is to promote the work of Canadians in the industry, so here we go:

Retailers must have their Diamond orders uploaded by 11:59pm, Tuesday, September 1.

Prices in the Diamond catalogue are listed in US$. Every store has their own currency exchange policy, expect the price to vary.

Please note:  for the most part, I only denote book content in the capacity of writer/artist as listed in Previews. Cover-only work is ignored unless specified in the listing.

I don’t expect this list to be complete so Creators: if you have a book listed in the August Previews that isn’t here, send me an email

160 pgs – $24.99

[Ed Note: this is one of those fondly remembered projects from back in the early 80’s. Marvel is mining the dollar bin, slapping on a hard cover, maybe touching up the colouring, and charging a $30 premium.]

[Ye Other Ed Note: I happen to like these nice hardcover reprints of classic comics – but I don’t think I’ll be ordering this. – Kevin]

[Ed Note: What if , way back in 1992, Jim Lee didn’t run a power play and force the X-editor to choose between him and Chris Claremont? Apparently this. Claremont tries to remember what he wanted to do way back then and writes it today, ignoring the past 17 years of continuity. Can you believe this project was greenlit!? Of course, I’m the target audience, so I decided to go along for the ride.]

[Ye Other Ed Note:  I plan on ordering this so count me in as well – Kevin]

.

MP Page 101 – Marvel – Fantastic Four Visionaries: John Byrne Vol 1
written, drawn and cover by John Byrne.
224 pgs – $24.99
Reprinting Fantastic Four #232 – 240
[Ed Note: another fondly remembered project. To think that Byrne has said he will never work for Marvel again, but they continue to churn out reprints of his work. I hope he cashes the cheques.]

[Ye Other Ed Note:  This is basically a revised version of an existing trade paperback that has been a pretty strong trade for Marvel. Byrne’s FF comics are excellent and deserve to be kept in print. – Kevin]
