New year, new news….

I’m having some laptop issues at home, and I had to dig out my old and antiquated PC from storage so I’ve been slow to update the site… and since New Year’s Day fell on a Saturday many of us (including myself) have today off from work. But I should have the new releases list up tomorrow in the new format… and I did see that Sequential’s Bryan Munn has relayed some news on behalf of his friend and fellow Guelph-ite Seth that the much-lauded Canadian cartoonist will be delivering a new book in the fall of 2011 from Drawn & Quarterly which is NOT Palooka-Ville 21 but rather a new graphic novel entitled THE GNBCC – “The Great Northern Brotherhood of Canadian Cartoonists”, which Munn says will be a prequel to 2005’s Wimbledon Green.

With new books from Chester and Seth in 2011, can anyone entice the other former “Toronto Three” cartoonist Joe Matt to get a book out?

More best of lists are making the blog scene, and we’ll catch up on some of those later this week. Good to see that some Entertainment Weekly writer has singled out Darwyn Cooke’s The Outfit as one of his favourites of the year.
