This upcoming weekend (February 6-8) it’s the New York Comic Con, the second largest comic book show in North America after San Diego Comic Con International.

Lots of Canadian creators in attendance, such as: David Finch, Darwyn Cooke, Bryan Lee O’Malley, Bernard Chang, J. Torres, Leonard Kirk, Ray Fawkes, Yanick Paquette, Serge LaPointe, Cameron Stewart, Tom Fowler, Andrea Grant, Svetlana Chmakova, Lar De Souza, Ryan Sohmer and a bunch of people that aren’t on the guest list that will just be hanging out or doing the occasional signing at a publisher’s booth. Canadian actors Aaron Douglas (Battlestar Galactica) and Joshua Jackson (Fringe) also appear. HobbyStar Marketing/Fan Expo Canada has a booth at the event and will have a number of celebrity signings there.  Arcana Studio appears to be the only Canadian publisher with an exhibitor booth, so make sure to stop by and say hello to Sean O’Reilly and his crew.

Representing the CCBCAA at the NYCC will be Publisher Liaison Allison Covey, Comics for Kids Award Organizer Jennifer Stewart and Co-Executive Director Kevin Boyd. They will be on the floor connecting with Canadian creators in attendance, checking in with publishers and talking to other professionals.
