Visions of an Icon: Wolverine by Marvin Law

Marvin Law – – is an up and coming comic book artist, based out of Toronto, Ontario (Canada); where he was also born and raised.  Marvin is a successful illustrator/designer working on projects ranging from Image Comics (Pact#2), Tokyopop (pin up in Blank Vol. 1), Beach Studios (pin up in Storm Hawks#1) to designing the CAPMA Promo! Awards and various other projects, for companies such as, Hasbro Toys, Spatialview and IRN Films.

His current project, the webcomic SLAM is the culmination of a dream project for Marvin, as it involves two of his great loves, in comic books and professional wrestling, which allowed him to create a compelling story in the process.  It’s a fun filled and action packed series, that he hopes many people will enjoy and love it as much as he does.

The piece shown above is a special digital print, one of over 40 pieces featuring Wolverine donated to the Joe Shuster Awards for the Visions of an Icon Art Show and Sale by Canadian artists. The pieces were exhibited twice in 2009 – at the Joe Shuster Awards Ceremony in September and at the Speakeasy Comic Art Show in November. The original art pieces will be auctioned off on eBay in March 2010. Watch for announcements on this site!

Every day we will try to post an original piece and some information on the artist(s) that donated the work.
