It’s already been spoiled everywhere, so let’s raise a glass of water to the Fantastic Four’s Human Torch, whose flame was doused by Marvel in Fantastic Four #587, out this week. Killing characters is nothing new to superhero comics, and it’s a tradition most often used to trump up sales, and in this case it’s on a pretty well-written (by Jonathan Hickman) book. Odds are the “dead” character will return in little over a year when the new FF title reverts back to Fantastic Four for it’s 600th issue. I bet Dr. Doom will have something to do with it.
