The newest issue of Broken Pencil showed up on my doorstep (a result of the subscription special offered at Canzine 2009) and there is some comic related notes in the issue:

• Jason Turner’s regular comic column
• regular appearing comics: Geofriends, I already know how my life will go, and the very cool, Mr. Monitor
• an excerpt from Marta Chudolinska’s Back & Forth; (I sense a Pigskin Pete nom coming for this book)
• an excerpt from Michael Deforge‘s Lose; (I read this comic in the fall last year, and it was one of my favourite things all year.  I sense some future noms for this Gene Day/newcomer.  The best news is that Lose #2 is coming soon!)
• the always great (but not necessarily timely) reviews of comic zines, including Pope Hats #1 by Ethan Rilly and graphic novels, like Dave Lapp’s Drop In.
